Obituary for Beatrice Cardoni

Beatrice Cardoni, 100, of Jessup, died Wednesday at the Serenity Care of Mid-Valley. She was the widow of John J. Cardoni, who died on Nov. 3, 2003.
Born in Jessup, she was the daughter of the late Tomasso and Francesca Donati Baldoni. A graduate of Jessup High School, prior to retirement, she and her husband were the owners and proprietors of Cardoni Photography Studio.
Famous for her cooking and her kindness, Bea was a member of St. Mary’s Church choir for many years. She served as one of the first women Eucharistic ministers at St. Mary’s. Along with her husband, she was the recipient of the Chapel of the Four Chaplains Award. She was also a dedicated volunteer at Peckville Long Term Center.
Bea will be deeply missed as the matriarch of our family who devoted her life to caring for her nieces and nephews; they were her pride and joy. She cherished her family and her legion of friends who brought great happiness to her life.
Surviving are sister, Louise Alunni, Jessup; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Dante Baldoni and Philip T. Baldoni; and sisters, Sally Turissini and Clara Paoletti.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 1101 Willow St., Peckville. Interment to follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
Friends and family may pay their respects Friday, March 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph’s Center, 2010 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509.
