Obituary for Sara Ann Ceccarelli

Sara Ceccarelli of Jessup passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Born in Scranton she was the daughter of Valerie Ceccarelli and Ron Evans.
A graduate of Valley View High School, Sara was in Spanish club and played flute in band and orchestra. Sara was one of the first people hired at McLane Company in Jessup in 2008, and was still employed as Inventory Control Team Lead until her passing. Sara was the sweetest person, beautiful inside and out, a sensitive soul, yet strong and brave. Always willing to go out of her way to help someone, whether collecting items for food drives or helping a neighbor or friend in need, her warmth, generosity, kindness, and positivity touched many, many people, and is cherished. She worked tirelessly for her daughter, boyfriend, family, and friends.
A gifted loving prankster, with a great wit and sense of humor, she provided much fun to family and friends and loved spending time with her daughter and boyfriend attending concerts, dining out, and vacationing.
Sara was intelligent and had many interests, such as cooking for family and friends and trying new dishes, Marvel movies, tending her flower gardens, and was an avid reader of Stephen King books. Music was a special passion for Sara, from Lizzo and Lady Gaga, Indigo Girls to Beatles, Grateful Dead to Alice in Chains. And of course, Friend Of The Gypsy. Rocky Horror Picture show, Moulin Rouge, Mamma Mia, Hamilton, and especially Les Miz are just some of the Broadway shows she loved.
Sara appreciated life's little pleasures like robins returning in Spring, feeding and watching her songbirds, her pets, lying on a warm beach, or just sitting on the porch soaking up the sun. She cared deeply about the environment and recently joined Citizens For A Healthy Jessup.
Also surviving are daughter Anna “Bella” Ceccarelli, aunt, Carol Hlavaty, and boyfriend, Mike Mancia.
She was preceded in death by her aunt, Sheila Ceccarelli, her uncle Joseph Hlavaty, aunt Sandra James, uncle Al Evans, and maternal and paternal grandparents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9 am in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 1101 Willow St. Peckville.
